Welcome to this week’s update.
Our PTA and Parent Council met for the first meeting of the session on Monday night. We are really keen to recruit new members, particularly for PTA so if you have some time to give (it is minimal), please contact the school office and I’ll be in touch.
I met with staff who are going to support Student Council this year and also staff and pupils who are going to help with school promotion. I feel it is very important to share all the good work which is going on in the school with the wider community. Our website is undergoing a bit of a re-vamp with some of the sections changing. Rather than pupil and parent sections we have changed to Wellbeing & Support and Teaching & Learning. This should hopefully make it easier to find the information you are looking for. I plan to make lots more use of the website this year and would appreciate any feedback you have on what you would like to see there.
I met with a member of staff this week to discuss Activities Day, which we hope will be able to go ahead in May 2022. Over the next few weeks, information on the activities running, consent forms and payment will become available. I hope to make use of ParentPay and the Parent Portal to make it easier for parents and carers.
Yesterday a group of staff met with Donnie Wood from SCQF about the Scottish Qualifications Framework. This was a very interesting meeting and ties into improvements we are planning for our curriculum and qualifications offer.
It was lovely to speak to S1 & S3 while they were having their photos taken on Wednesday. They should have come home with a card for you to access their photos.
I’m looking forward to Student Leader interviews on Tuesday next week. I know it’s a nerve-wracking experience for the S6 pupils. I’m sure they will do themselves proud.
Have a lovely weekend everyone!
