Scottish Cup
Congratulations to our S3 netball team who won their semi-final in the Scottish cup on Tuesday this week, proceeding to the final today in the Emirates Arena. The girls should be so proud of themselves taking home silver medals, showing determination, team spirit and resilience. Congratulations to Eva Watkins who was named Netball Scotland’s Player of the Match. A big thanks to staff, parents/carers and pupils who have supported their journey, especially Miss Robb!
Young Carers Awareness Day
This week we recognised Young Carers Awareness Day. Young Carers Renfrewshire visited the school to speak with pupils about the challenges faced by our young carers. In addition, S1 pupils have all had an awareness raising session and a peer support group from a range of year groups worked with Create Paisley. Young carers tell us the challenges they face include tiredness and school attendance. It is our aim to support these amazing young people the best we can, to ensure they have opportunities to succeed, thrive and feel included in our school community.
Police Scotland
Thanks to Police Scotland who delivered a session to one of our S1 PSE classes this week on the challenges around anti-social behaviour. We have a great relationship with our Community Police and it was great to welcome them into our school to work alongside young people.
