Pupils and staff are working hard to complete SQA courses. Attendance at support classes has been good and we are also planning Easter Revision classes for S4-S6 pupils. Information about the programme will come soon.
This week Mrs McMunn was judging the S1 Pizza Challenge. She was very impressed with the range of activity the pupils had been involved in to produce their own pizzas and the pizza boxes they come in. Pupils came up with their own recipes and presented to the class to market their product. This is a great learning experience in HFT, which not only focuses on the skills required for the subject but also develops skills for the world of work.
The Depute Head Teachers led year group assemblies this week, unfortunately some of the focus was on the dreaded snowballs! However, there were also lots of extra-curricular awards issued. I’m excited to say I will be working on pulling together all the information on our wider achievement winners for the end of this session.
I’d like to thank the PTA, who generously donated a significant sum of money to the school to help us refurnish and equip our new Pupil Support Hub. Orders have already been placed for new technology and I will soon be purchasing a range of furniture to introduce new learning zones as well as lots of new resources.
Pupils from Brediland and Bushes Primary were at Gleniffer High this afternoon, participating in football coaching sessions with our Sports Leaders. It was a great afternoon with almost 90 of our future S1 pupils attending. The lovely weather made all the difference!
Have a look at our twitter feed to see some senior pupils from Gleniffer and St Andrew’s visiting Glenburn Pre-5 Centre and reading stories to the children on World Book Day.
