A few sporting events this week with our Under-14 football team winning 5-2 against Castlehead this week. Well done to Darian Wokocha who was Man of the Match.
Thanks to Active Schools who organised a Netball development day which was attended by our S1/2 girls. They had a great day!
Yesterday, 34 S4 pupils attended a session run by Mr Marshallsay and I, which was designed to promote study support. The N5 prelims begin three weeks on Tuesday and there were a few anxious faces in the room. We talked about different techniques and how to plan study time effectively. It’s only natural that young people are starting to get anxious about the upcoming exams, however if they plan their time carefully over the next few weeks they will get through it and build up study skills, which will see them well through the rest of the year. Resources can be found via the employability link on the homepage of the school website.
S3 Parents’ Evening took place last night with a 72% turnout of parents/carers. Anyone who couldn’t attend may contact the school to arrange to speak with someone about their child’s progress.
Thanks to our Chaplaincy team who organised assemblies for pupils today to mark Remembrance Day. As always, our young people were respectful and the input from pupils was lovely. Our chaplaincy team volunteer regularly in our school via the Hot Chocolate Club, which is open to S1/2 pupils every Thursday lunchtime and this year will be running “Christmas Unwrapped” which is always well received by pupils.
