We have finally reached the end of January!
This week a large number of S4 parents have attended options interviews alongside their child to meet with depute head teachers and plan pathways for next year. These interviews prove to be invaluable in ensuring young people are making the most appropriate choices for their attainment as well as post school destination. Soon S5 interviews will start to help plan the final year of school.
S4 parents’ evening took place on Thursday night with a good turnout of 72% of young people represented. It’s now the big push to complete coursework, internal assessment and the preparation for final exams. Lots of supported study is being offered at the end of the school day as well as Easter revision classes. Pupils should sign up to make sure they take advantage of this resource and get lots of support running up to the final exams.
S2 pupils who missed their 1-1 careers interviews with our SDS advisers have been getting catch up interviews this week. It is important to attend as we will soon be coming to choices time for S2.
Next Wednesday pupils in S1-S3 will attend our extra-curricular fayre. We already have the Sport Scotland Silver Award but are now going for GOLD! To achieve this, we need to have 40% of our pupils taking part in extra-curricular activity, which promotes physical fitness. Pupils will have the opportunity to learn more about our extra-curricular programme and the activities running which include netball, football, gymnastics and hockey.
A reminder that school is closed to pupils 7th February-12th February inclusive. I hope everyone has a great long weekend next week!
