I’d like to extend a massive thank you to our wonderful PTA who organised a lovely Christmas fayre last Saturday. There was a great turnout and Santa proved to be a big hit! Our singers were fantastic, thanks to Mrs Gibb for supporting. The events run by PTA very much support our school and the young people; I am very appreciative of their help.
We had our first Parents’ Evening of the session on Tuesday with a great turnout from parents and carers. Over 100 people responded to our survey about our tracking and reporting arrangements, the results will be in the next newsletter.
This morning I had a very positive meeting with the Assistant Director of Children’s’ Services and our Education Manager to review our attainment in the 2018 SQA Diet and discuss our next steps. Pupils and staff were also part of the evaluation and I am awaiting our formal feedback. The morning went very well and there’s a positive picture based on pupil results this year.
Last Friday, I had a Graphic Facilitator working with staff, pupils and parents/carers on our school vision, values and aims. We have agreed on five new core values Acceptance, Respect, Trust, Nurture and Ambition. The visuals will soon be on our website and displayed around the school. It was a fantastic session and really allowed us to explore what we want from Gleniffer High School and what these core values mean to us. I am excited to launch these values with the school community in the new year.
The next reflection will give detail on all our events running up to Christmas.
Good luck to all our National 5 pupils who are starting their prelims on Monday!
