S1-3 pupils were issued with letters during assemblies on Monday, about changes we are implementing to the house structure from 4th June. A newsletter about communication between home and school was also issued. If you didn’t receive either of these letters, they can be found on the school website or paper copies can be requested from the school office.
A huge number of extra-curricular awards were issued during assemblies this week, 97 in first year alone! These recognise pupil commitment to the school and wider community, for some even recognition for their national achievements. I am preparing a publication, which will highlight the award winners this session. However, it is my worry that we don’t know about all the achievements of young people beyond the school, so please get in touch using the school email address, call in to the main office or use our function on the school website to report an achievement. 2018 is the Year of Young People and I personally think they should get all the credit they deserve.
Today is activities day and most S1-3 pupils are participating in activities in school or further afield. There is a photography course, paintball, cinema trip, cake baking, FIFA 18, Blackpool and lots more. I’m sure the pupils will all have had a great day which is a nice way to send them off for their long weekend.
Next week we will start to issue new timetables for the change on 4th June and we get to celebrate the successes of young people at our Certificate of Merit ceremony on Wednesday.
