Some of our learners had a very exciting visit to Holyrood on Tuesday of this week. This came about from the work the Design & Technical department had undertaken on traditional building techniques a while ago. The pupils had a wonderful experience and it was a real honour for Gleniffer High School students to be invited.
S1 Parents’ Evening was on Thursday of this week with a fantastic 84% turnout. There seemed to be a lot of happy faces following glowing reports. Our Parent Council Chair attended to speak to parents and carers about the role of the Parent Council and gather some views on the school.
S1 and S2 pupils went on a trip to West College Scotland in Clydebank to learn about STEM related careers on Thursday. They had an amazing time, participating in different workshops relating to the STEM industry, including Medicine. Pupils were amazed to hear that photography jobs existed in the NHS and had a wonderful time learning about new innovations. It’s never too early to start talking to your children about careers and “My World of Work” is a good website to explore for information.
“Single by Sunday” were in school on Friday playing some of their music to S1/2 pupils but also sharing the important messages around cyber-bullying. Pupils loved it and there were selfies and autographs all through the morning interval.
It’s the PTA Winter Fayre on Saturday from 10am-12pm, come along and support our school!
