We have introduced a SQA qualification in Retail for session 2019-20 and I got a chance to hear from the first group of young people, on Tuesday, who are studying this course. They presented their proposal for a school business, led by them, which will contribute, to school funds. They were very welcoming and professional in their approach and have some great ideas. I look forward to hearing more from them in the new session.
Three of our Cluster primaries were in Gleniffer on Tuesday to see a dress rehearsal of our school show High School Musical, which takes place on Monday and Tuesday next week. They seem to have really enjoyed the performance. Tickets are now on sale for the show and can be purchased via the school office.
Our S6 Leavers had their dance on Thursday night in the stunning Oran Mor in Glasgow. The badgeholders and Mr Gorman really outdid themselves with the venue, decoration and added extras. Photos should be on the school website very soon. The young people had a brilliant night and conducted themselves so well. I feel very proud and privileged to have been a part of their special send off. The very best of luck and much health and happiness is wished to them all. Thank you also to all the family and friends who came along to wave them off from the school.
Carni Malawi wristbands went on sale today priced £5. This gives pupils non-uniform and unlimited use of the Gladiator Inflatable Assault Course, Diddy-Men football, Gladiator Challenge and Eliminator. Rides cost an additional £1.50; most stalls are 50p a shot and candy floss is £1. There will be a tuck shop on the day. This is set to be our best ever with music performances and DJ sets to boost the atmosphere – here’s hoping for sun, or at the very least no rain!
